Sina is a Partner in the Energy, Environment, and Corporate/Commercial Practice Groups of AELEX. He has advised on structuring joint venture arrangements for oil exploration and acquisition of upstream assets. He has also advised, drafted and negotiated various upstream agreements including drilling contracts, oil terminal agreements and crude lifting agreements.
He has been involved in advising governments, multinational oil companies and project developers on diverse contractual regulatory and policy issues.

Michael Somorin is the General Counsel of the Sahara Group and in this capacity he provides legal leadership for the group’s businesses across the globe. Prior to joining Sahara in 2020 he spent 16 years with Shell where he worked in a variety of legal and commercial roles and was the Commercial Lead for the Assa North Project, the largest domestic gas project in Nigeria. In the course of his over 20 year career he has worked on a variety of oil and gas and infrastructure projects in Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire, Mozambique, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea as well as on M&A transactions in the UK and Norway.

She consistently acts as arbitration counsel, has served as Tribunal Registrar in an arbitration involving a National Ministry and a Nigerian oil services Company and recently successfully defended a client in two rounds of litigation in a matter pertaining to the setting aside of an arbitral award arising from a Unitization Agreement. Ngozi has authored several articles on various topics in Nigerian arbitration and frequently speaks at industry events.

The International Financial Law Review (IFLR1000) rates Ngozi as a rising star in Project finance for 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
