Counterfeiting and trademark infringement continue to pose serious challenges to innovation and industry, especially in the 21st century. The dynamic nature of these challenges makes it imperative to have progressive and up to date laws and measures. In this article, our Temi Oladele (Associate) examines the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act’s mechanisms to combat counterfeiting and trademark infringement. He also highlights the roles of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission and the Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal in curbing these adverse market practices.
