The regulations came into force on March 27 2020. It is made pursuant to section 8 of the Quarantine Act and the Public Health Law of Lagos State. Accordingly, it has a total of 18 regulations which touches on salient issues such as the power of the state government to have control over -potentially infectious persons, the power of the governor to direct restriction of movement within, in and out of all the local governments in Lagos State (excluding the movement of essential supplies and the movement of essential services personnel), the restriction of gatherings within the state, the conduct of trade and commercial activities, prohibition of the transmission of false news, transportation, storage and disposal of the remains of infected persons and the regulation of prices of food, drugs and other essential supplies. It also makes provisions for the penalties for any possible breach. The Regulation also vests the governor with omnibus powers to make other orders which are incidental to the regulations.
